Meet Dr. Barbara Maddoux, RN, DOM, IFMCP
Founder of NorthPointe Medicine in 2003, Dr. Barbara Maddoux is both a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and the first physician in New Mexico to be board certified in Functional Medicine by the Institute for Functional Medicine, IFMCP. Dr. Maddoux is also a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of experience as a critical care cardiovascular nurse specialist.
IFM Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, IFMCP Registered Nurse, RN Clinical Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist, CCRN Clinical Nutritionist, Certified Yoga Instructor, registered with the International Yoga Alliance.
As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, DOM, New Mexico licensed, Dr. Maddoux has Expanded Prescriptive Authority (Rx) and can prescribe Bio Identical Hormone therapies.
National Board Certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the NCCAOM National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Dr. Maddoux combines her expertise in cardiovascular nursing, Oriental medicine, and Functional Medicine to gently uncover root causes that conventional testing often overlooks. Viewing the body as an interconnected whole, she goes beyond “normal” lab results to help restore optimal function.
With a warm and compassionate approach, she addresses the deeper sources of complex health challenges - creating space for natural healing, balance, and long-term wellness.
